Obras foram principais vencedores da 59ª edição do prêmio Tony de teatro, realizada domingo no Rádio City Music Hall de Nova York

Nova York - "Monty Python´s Spamalot" conquistou domingo o prêmio Tony de melhor musical da temporada 2004-2005 da Broadway e "Doubt" ficou com o prêmio de melhor espetáculo teatral. A extravagante versão do filme "Monty Python and the Holy Grial" tinha 14 indicações e levou o Tony de melhor diretor, com Mike Nichols, e de melhor atriz coadjuvante, Sara Ramírez.

O Tony de melhor obra teatral foi para "Doubt", drama sobre uma suspeita de pedofilia em uma escola católica.A obra ganhou o prêmio de melhor diretor, Doug Hughes, de melhor atriz, Cherry Jones, e o de melhor atriz coadjuvante em obra teatral, Adriane Lenox.

O prêmio de melhor ator foi para Bill Irwin, que atuou na reestréia do clássico Quem tem medo de Virginia Wolf? "Piazza", um romance na Itália dos anos 1950, levou seis estatuetas, inclusive a de melhor música. Por sua vez, Billy Cristal ganhou o Tony de melhor evento teatral por seu autobiográfico "700 Sundays".

Eu morri de rir com a sequencia em que Michelangelo discute com  o Papa sobre a retratação da Santa Ceia, durante um show! Adoro a forma como eles misturam piadas politicas, escatologia e nonsense.
